Our story

Two optometrists, one shared belief: that great eye care should feel personal, thorough and genuinely local.

Why we started

Falling in love with the Hills.

Belgrave Eye Care began with two optometrists who shared a clear vision: to create an independent practice that delivers comprehensive eye care in a warm and welcoming environment, right in the heart of the Hills community. Having both worked in the Yarra Ranges for many years, we developed a deep appreciation for the people, the pace, and the strong sense of community that makes the Hills so special.

From the beginning, our goal was for Belgrave Eye Care to feel unique and authentic, just like Belgrave itself — a place built on real relationships, where patients are known, valued, and never rushed. We believe in time, trust, and continuity of care; in listening properly, explaining clearly, and supporting families through every stage of their eye care journey.

Belgrave Eye Care was created not just as a practice, but as something we could genuinely build together, right down to the clinic itself — we completed much of the renovation by hand, turning it into a true labour of love. We are proud to have brought this vision to life in the heart of Belgrave, and to be part of a community that values genuine, local and thoughtful care.

How we're different

More than a standard eye test.

We offer a wider range of services than most optometrists — disease and diabetic eye management, emergency eye care, contact lenses and orthokeratology, myopia management, small in-office procedures and specialty paediatric care.

And unlike corporate practices where you see a different clinician each visit, we value long-term relationships with our patients. Your care is understood over time, not started from scratch each appointment.
